Brief Artist Statement

I've come recently to Chinese Landscape painting via Gan Yu's workshop.  My ceramic sculpture encompasses nature and geology so I wanted to explore how this would manifest in two dimensions.  I think of these beginning paintings as poetic paradoxes.  I used daisies, sage leaves,  gingko leaves and pine needles to make impressions with ink.  I also used traditional Chinese brushes. The color in the paintings are watercolors from European/American brands.
