About the Painting

Painting was born in the ink and ink was born in water. I always consider that ink is the blood of a painting. In my artwork, water, ink , acrylic and bitumen were mixed together that resulted in unpredictable and very interesting effects. When I was painting, I had never tried to control my brushes, instead, I let it go naturally as self-performances. Painting is as if having life and soul - Hui Tian

About the Artist

Born in Wuhan, Hubei, China in 1957

Graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1985

Taught at Oil Painting Department of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts from 1985 to 1990

Studied in USA in 1990 and Graduated from Art Department of Brooklyn College of City University of New York in 1993, obtained Master Degree in Fine Arts (MFA)
