个人简介 / Introduction

Gan Yu is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Chinese Art Media Lab / Dept of History of Art + Architecture, Harvard University and he is also a director of the International Department of China Institute for Visual Studies, the China Academy of Art. As an art instructor, Dr. Gan Yu regularly teaches art classes and workshops at The Art Students League of New York, and he is a guest professor at Shanghai Institute of Visual Art. Gan Yu received his Ph.D. in Chinese Painting from China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, China and his M.A. in Studio Art from Minnesota State University in the USA. Dr. Gan Yu has conducted his workshops of Chinese Brush Art at various institutions including Harvard University Art Museum, The Art Students League of New York, The Dept of History of Art + Architecture, Harvard University, City University of New York, Minnesota State University, Shanghai University, The Islip Art Museum, Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden, Katonah Museum of Art, cet. Dr. Gan Yu has had solo exhibitions at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Art Gallery, Minnesota State University-Mankato Art Gallery, Yale China Association of Yale University and Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Garden. Dr. Gan Yu has also exhibited in groups at many museums and galleries, such as Ethan Cohen Fine Arts of New York, Asia Art Miami, The National Art Museum of China, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Shanghai Art Museum, China Academy of Art Museum, St. Johns University Art Gallery, Agora Gallery of New York and many others.

喻干现任美国哈佛大学艺术与建筑史系"中国艺术实验室" 博士后研究员, 中国美术学院视觉中国研究院国际部主任; 美国纽约艺术学生联盟现代水墨艺术导师, 上海视觉艺术学院客座教授, 美国<<中华艺术网>>执行董事及艺术总监。喻干获美国明尼苏达州立大学美术系绘画专业艺术硕士学位及中国美术学院中国画系人物画实践与理论博士学位。喻干曾在美国纽约哥伦比亚大学进修西方中世纪艺术史。喻干的博士论文为<< 新疆克孜尔石窟壁画与罗马圣玛丽亚古教堂壁画之比较 : 公元 7 世纪前后东西方壁画经典分析>> (A Comparative Study between Kizil Cave Paintings in Xingjiang and the Mural Paintings at Santa Maria Antiqua in Rome: Analysis of Eastern and Western Frescoes circa 7th Century C.E。

近年来，喻干在美国哈佛大学、纽约艺术学生联盟、纽约市立大学、纽约艾斯利美术馆、纽约哈默美术馆、纽约卡图纳美术馆等机构讲授中国水墨艺术课程或主持水墨艺术工作访。喻干作品曾在中国美术馆 、香港艺术馆、 上海美术馆 、上海展览馆、 上海刘海粟美术馆 、辽河美术馆、 中国美术学院美术馆 、迈阿密亚洲当代艺术博览会、 纽约市柯恩艺术馆 、 纽约州哈默美术馆、耶鲁大学 、 圣约翰大学 、 威斯康星大学 、 明尼苏达州立大学 、 纽约州立大学等机构展出。喻干作品曾参加上海市青年美展、中国青年美展、第125 届美国全国纸面艺术作品展、第十四届中国全国美展、美国迈阿密亚洲艺术博览会等重要展览。喻干主持的 << 中华艺术网 >> 在新世纪初受香港艺术馆之邀参加了该馆举办的中国当代艺术大展 << 蜕变-- 突破，华人新艺展>> (Inside Out - New Chinese Art ) 。喻干和他的网站不断受到国际主流媒体的报道, 如CNN ，耶鲁学报、纽约州大学报、明尼苏达州大学报、香港明报、纽约侨报、世界日报等、星岛日报、奥玛哈新闻报、美国中文电视等。 2007 年英国 Longman 出版社在全球发行的高级英语教材 “Top Notch2 ” 中把喻干和他<< 中华艺术网>> 编入第三课“生活在艺术之中”; 2010 年 << 喻干人体人像写生选: 记录生命中瞬间的魅力>> 由纽约宇宙艺术发行公司出版; 2012 年喻干专著<< 足迹彼岸>> 年由上海复旦大学出版社出版发行; 2014 年喻干论文 “克孜尔与拜占庭” 刋登于中国美术学院学报 << 新美术 >> (New Arts, Journal of the National Academy of Art) ; 2015 年喻干参加“2015 年克孜尔石窟壁画国际学术研讨会”，并发布论文“克孜尔石窟壁画与圣马丽亚古教堂壁画之比较 ”，该论文刋登于 << 2015 年克孜尔石窟壁画国际学术研讨会论文集 >> ，( New Perspectives on the Silk Road: 2015 International Conference on the Kizil Cave Paintings: Collection of Research Papers) 。
